Abstract submission conditions

Abstract review

Representatives from the Research Committee will review submitted abstracts in the first instance to determine suitability. The Conference Committee will select abstracts from those categorised as suitable.

Please note that only the abstracts selected by the AHTA Scientific Committee will be presented as a paper presentation. All other accepted abstracts will be offered the opportunity to present as a poster. Paper and poster presentation guidelines will be provided on acceptance into the Program.

All abstracts must be prepared according to the instructions provided on the conference website.

Conditions of presenting

Presenting authors are require to register for the conference and must have paid their registration fee in full prior to the event.

Standard audio visual is provided for all sessions (microphone, lectern, data projector, screen and laptop).

Presentations will be recorded to be made available via the virtual platform after the conference.


NHMRC and AHTA requirements

All submissions must confirm that they meet the following requirements. Applicants will be asked to formally acknowledge that each requirement has been met. This process not only educates submitters on the standards of high-quality scientific presentations but also protects the association by ensuring that content presented is accurate, ethical, and professionally appropriate.

  • I confirm that I have read and adhered to the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research Guidelines https://www.nhmrc.gov.au/research-policy/ethics/national-statement-ethical-conduct-human-research.
  • I confirm that all patient’s images are de-identified and that informed consent from the patient has been obtained where appropriate before submission.
  • I confirm that I have obtained written approval from all relevant authors/stakeholders to submit this abstract and present this project.
  • If required, I confirm I have received human research ethics approval in undertaking the work that I am going to present.
  • If required, I have followed the appropriate research reporting guidelines https://www.equator-network.org/
  • I have read and understood my entitlements and requirements as a speaker.
  • I authorise the AHTA Conference organisers to use my abstract, biography and photograph as supplied by me for marketing and promotion.
  • I authorise the AHTA to add my abstract to be placed on the event app.
  • I authorise the AHTA to record my presentation (audio and visual) and make the recording available on the event virtual platform to conference delegates and AHTA authorised personnel for education purposes.
  • I agree to submit a PowerPoint presentation of my free paper two weeks prior to the conference (7 August 2026).
